Virtually every Dryer problem can be fixed with our company services. We can fix any situation that involves Dryers.
Out of all home appliances, dryers have the longest lifespan. Older dryers tend to be the most durable. They can easily last 30 to 40 years with no issues (other than having to replace the fuse now and then). Newer dryers, like most other newer appliances, don’t last quite as long. Still, dryers run into much fewer issues than most other appliances, and when issues do occur, they are typically less expensive to repair. Fortunately, Appliance Repair of America knows how to fix all types of dryers, the new as well as the old.
We at Appliance Repair of America are prepared to deal with the entire gamut of dryer problems, including some very unusual ones. Still, there are some problems that are fairly common, and it’s likely that the issue with your dryer falls into one of these categories. The most common – and among the cheapest – issues with dryers typically involve the thermal cutoff fuses or the heating element. This holds true across all brands. If your machine is getting hot and your clothes aren’t coming back dry, check the vent and make sure it isn’t clogged. You may be able to handle a minor clog yourself, but in serious cases, you will likely need to call a professional. The most expensive repair on a dryer will be either the control board or the motor; however, these are not common.
Sometimes a dryer will have to be replaced. When this happens, we get a lot of questions from people who want to know which brands we recommend. Generally, we recommend buying used over new, especially with dryers. If you are going to buy a new dryer, however, we’d recommend GE, LG, Samsung, Frigidaire, or Samsung brand machines. These are the brands which, in our experience, have the fewest problems.
Don’t worry if your dryer isn’t one of these, though. Our repairmen work on all types of models.
